"Setting off in 2012 for the Mauritanian Sahara Desert, we left comfort behind for a transformative sojourn. Amidst equatorial mornings and encounters with rustic retreats, we immersed our self in various interesting experiences; performing wudhu in the Sub-Saharan Atlantic Ocean, traversing ancient souks and distant oases. Then we discovered a secluded place where our sacred history still resided in 'all' of it's orthodoxy. Here, we met the luminous figure Murabit Al Hajj - renowned Islamic Scholar highly regarded as a saint of the sages - who inspired his students through dedication and education, reviving the religion throughout the great civilisations of our modern world.
This experience compelled us to dedicate our self and contribute to the sacred cause of religious education. It is to this end we resolved to establish Madrasa Matrix — a gateway connecting our past to our present — forging a future for generations to come. Ameen."
